Safety is always a number one priority especially when we have little kids who carry germs like crazy! Washing your hands is always the most effective way of killing germs, however, you don’t always have access to soap and water when you are on the go. You can try these awesome recipes for a natural hand sanitizer, they don’t require many ingredients and are super easy to customize with great smelling essential oils!

We recommend trying these great smelling oils for your own hand sanitizer recipe:

You will need a mixer agent when making your hand sanitizer.

Aloe vera: Is great as an additive to both of the mixing agents below, it adds moisture and a little thickness to the solution.

Witch hazel: Nourishes the skin and can be a great substitute for an alcohol-free recipe. Witch hazel is also great for sensitive skin or for children.

Alcohol (190 proof): This is the most common ingredient used in hand sanitizers, it has strong anti-microbial properties and keeps the integrity of the solution. Although great for killing bacteria it can be very drying to the skin, this is where the added aloe vera makes a huge difference.

To make your solution just mix all the ingredients together in a small glass bottle, we suggest amber glass for the longest shelf life. Below are a couple of ideas for you to consider.
